THINK Gas declares LPG Free Zone in Bhopal to Boost PNG Adoption Among Households

THINK Gas has certified residential communities across 4 large residential societies serving 1902 families.

Bhopal, May 12, 2026: THINK Gas, one of India’s leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies, recently participated in the Consumer Awareness Program, an initiative organized by the Upbhokta Sarankshan Kalyan Seva Samiti. The event served as a platform to announce the declaration of its ‘LPG Free Zones’ initiative in the Bhopal geographical area. This initiative is aimed at accelerating the adoption of Piped Natural Gas (PNG), with THINK Gas officials handing over the LPG Free Zone certification to the associations of Sagar Lake View Homes, Soumya Park Land, Aakriti Greens and Canal Kinship, recognizing the societies’ large-scale transition to PNG.

In continuation of this initiative, THINK Gas has certified a total of four large residential communities across the Bhopal Geographical Area (GA) as “LPG Free Zones”, recognizing societies that have significantly transitioned households from LPG cylinders to PNG connections. The certified communities together account for over 1902 households, which have already transitioned or are in the process of transitioning to PNG.

The first set of communities recognized under the initiative include Sagar Lake View Homes (Ayodhya Bypass), Soumya Park Land (Awadhpuri), Aakriti Greens (Salaiya) and Canal Kinship (Salaiya), located across the Bhopal region.

The initiative encourages residents across the area to choose PNG in residential communities while also creating awareness on the convenience, uninterrupted supply and long-term value offered by piped gas infrastructure.

Speaking on the launch of the initiative, Mr. D S Durgesh, Regional Head - Bhopal, THINK Gas, said, “Through the LPG Free Zone declaration, we aim to work closely with residential communities to accelerate PNG adoption and build greater awareness around piped gas infrastructure. We are encouraged by the response seen across these communities and remain committed to supporting more households in making a seamless transition to PNG.”

THINK Gas stated that the initiative will continue to expand across the Bhopal GA over the coming months, with plans to certify additional residential communities that achieve large-scale PNG adoption. The recognition drive also aligns with the broader push towards strengthening urban gas infrastructure and increasing access to PNG among households.
