Official Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) mandate declaring the regulation of supply, mandatory surrender of domestic LPG connections upon PNG adoption, and prohibited dual usage.

Mandatory Immediate Surrender of Domestic LPG Clause 3(5)
No person having a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection and also having a domestic LPG connection shall retain a domestic LPG connection, or take refills of domestic LPG cylinders from any Government oil company, or through their distributors. Such persons are required to immediately surrender their domestic LPG connection.
Prohibition on Dual LPG / PNG Connections Clause 3(6)
No person having a Piped Natural Gas connection shall obtain a domestic LPG connection, or take refills of domestic LPG cylinders from any Government oil company, or through their distributors. PNG ensures safe, 24x7 uninterrupted gas piped directly into households.
Prohibited Activity for Oil Marketing Companies Schedule-I (Item 13)
Providing a domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas connection, and/or supplying domestic LPG cylinder refills to any consumer who already owns a Piped Natural Gas connection is officially classified as a Prohibited Activity for Government Oil Companies and distributors.
This statutory Gazette notification provides the legal foundation for residential communities and RWAs to transition entirely to Piped Natural Gas, establishing certified LPG Free Zones across all authorized Geographical Areas.
