THINK Gas Commences its first at-home Installation of Domestic Piped Natural Gas in Raichur

Raichur-Karnataka, 8th November 2023 – India's leading City Gas Distributor, THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham), has launched its first Domestic PNG in Raichur to promote eco-friendly and safe fuel consumption. Mr.Krishna a local resident from Vishwanath Colony, LBS Nagar, Raichur became the first homeowner to install and use a piped gas connection.  The inauguration happened in the presence of Shri N. S. Boseraju, Hon’ble minister of Minor Irrigation & Science Technology. THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham) has already registered upto 4000 PNG connections in the region, with a vision of establishing 50,000 household connections within the next 5 years in the Raichur district.

THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham) has aligned its efforts with the Karnataka state government's vision, which is committed to supporting the development of a City Gas Distribution (CGD) network across the state. To ensure a seamless supply of clean household fuel 24X7, THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham) has established an LCNG station at KIADB Industrial Area, Raichur, serving as the primary source for natural gas supply. To support the PNG supply to domestic consumers, 35 kilometers of MDPE pipeline networks have been laid in Raichur, with plans to extend this to approximately 100 kilometers in the near future to meet the growing natural gas demand of Raichur.

Commenting on the occasion, Shri N. S. Boseraju, Hon’ble minister of Minor Irrigation & Science Technology has appreciated efforts of THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham)'s efforts to bring clean energy to the people of Raichur, and in his address he stressed audience that public and all government officials should support to execute this project because this is beneficial for the public and at the same time he has also emphasized THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham) officials to take utmost care and caution about safety of the public.

Mr. Debasish Sadhan Chattopadhyay, the North Karnataka Zonal Head- THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham) said, “As part of THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham)'s efforts to bring clean energy to the people, the first domestic PNG connection to Raichur is a major milestone in the geographical area. The goal is to establish 50,000 household connections in the district over the next 5 years, recognizing natural gas as the future fuel that will enhance people's quality of life by ensuring safety and convenience. Furthermore, residents can achieve substantial savings of 10-20% on PNG compared to LPG cylinders, leading to significant reductions in their monthly expenses. Our CGD infrastructure facility is expected to create local job opportunities, contributing to the region's economic development.” Mr. Chattopadhyay emphasized that the development of the PNG infrastructure will enhance the city's daily lifestyle, making it more convenient, and acknowledged the crucial role of government support in achieving this. He concluded by reaffirming their commitment to promoting a more sustainable fuel consumption pattern in the city and a continued dedication to providing cost-effective energy solutions.

Currently, THINK Gas(formerly AG&P Pratham) has initiated operations at 5 CNG stations in the district and plans to expand to 30 CNG stations over a period of five years. There are approximately 750 CNG-operated vehicles, including 250 CNG-operated autos which have access to the uninterrupted supply of CNG from the LCNG station in Raichur.
