THINK Gas Commences its 1st Domestic Piped Natural Gas Connection in Aryad Panchayat in Alappuzha District.

Alappuzha, 22nd March 2025: India’s leading City Gas Distributor, THINK Gas (formerly known as AG&P Pratham), commences its first Domestic PNG connection in Aryad Panchayat, Alappuzha in the presence of Shri P. P. Chitharanjan, the Hon’ble MLA of Kerala, Alappuzha Constituency, Shri Santhosh Lal, Aryad Panchayat President, Shri K. D. Maheendran, Block Panchayth President, Adv. Riyas, Dist Pachayath Division Member, Shri. Biju mon, Standing Council Chairman and other Ward councilors. The PNG supply aims to promote eco-friendly domestic fuel needs with a robust pipeline network originating from Cherthala Mother plant and routed through Vayalar Panchayat, Cherthala Municipality, Thannermukkomm Panchayat, Kanjikuzhi Panchayat, Mannancheery Panchayat, Muhamma Panchayat, and reached Aryad Panchayat The company plans to have 21,000 households connected to PNG by May 2025 in areas such as Vayalar Panchayt, Cherthala Municpality, Thannermukkomm Panchayat, Kanjikuzhi Pancyat, Mannancheery Panchayt, Muhamma Panchayat, and Aryad Panchayt.  

THINK Gas has aligned its efforts with the Kerala state government’s vision, which is committed to the development of a City Gas Distribution (CGD) network across the state. To ensure a seamless supply of clean household fuel 24x7, THINK Gas has installed 790 km of Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE) pipeline in Cherthala zone of Alappuzha.

Chitharanjan, Hon’ble MLA of Kerala, Alappuzha District, expressed his appreciation for the initiative, stating: “THINK Gas’s commitment to providing eco-friendly solutions and promoting sustainable living is truly commendable. This project marks a significant step towards a cleaner, greener Alappuzha. It will not only enhance the quality of life for our residents but also serve as a model for sustainable urban development. I am glad to see that THINK Gas has taken every measure to ensure environmental balance and timely restoration of roads while 
implementing this project." 

Mr. Ajith V. Nagendran, GA Head of AKT (Alappuzha - Kollam - Trivandrum), highlighted the impact of the initiative, saying: “As part of THINK Gas’s efforts to bring clean energy to the people, the first domestic PNG connection in Aryad Panchayat, Alappuzha, is a major milestone in the geographical area. Over the next one year, we aim to provide 32,000 household connections in the district, making natural gas the preferred fuel for a safer, more convenient lifestyle. PNG offers a cost advantage, helping households save 10-20% compared to LPG cylinders, significantly reducing monthly expenses. With the support of the government, we are committed to building a strong PNG infrastructure that will transform daily life in the city and promote sustainable energy use for the future."

THINK Gas plans to connect 13,000 new households in Alappuzha by FY 2025-26. In the future, 200+ Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations are planned in the Alappuzha-Kollam-Trivandrum Geographical Area, with 43 stations already commissioned by the company to date.
