Kalaburagi, 26th December 2024: AG&P Pratham, a leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) player in India, proudly announces the inauguration of its third exclusive compressed natural gas (CNG) filling station at the KIADB Industrial Area locality, Kalaburagi. This Company Owned Company Operated (COCO) CNG station, strategically situated at KIADB Industrial Area, Kapnoor, will benefit the nearby areas of Kapnoor Industrial Estate, Kalaburagi City, Hyderabad-Kalaburagi-Vijayapura Road, Aurad B, and Kalaburagi Ring Road catering to the growing CNG needs.
By 2025, AG&P Pratham plans to add four more CNG stations in the city and expand its Piped Natural Gas Network (PNG) to Kharge Adjacent Areas, Basaveshwar Nagar, and Pragati Colony, which will cater to approximately 5,000 households. This expansion will further strengthen the company’s plans to commercialize gas supply to hotels and industries, including KMF Nandini Dairy, SB Patil Industries, and hotels such as Pizza Hut and Udipi’s Upahar (Om Nagar).
Commenting on this infrastructure development, Mr. Rangarajan Seshadri, GA Head (Kalaburagi-Vijayapura) at AG&P Pratham, said, “We are happy to inaugurate our second exclusive CNG filling station in Kalaburagi, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to providing clean, affordable, and energy solutions. Our substantial investment in establishing the natural gas network underscores our dedication to meeting the rising fuel needs of vehicle owners. By actively promoting CNG as an alternative fuel through attractive schemes for new CNG vehicles and those retrofitted with CNG kits, we are facilitating a greener shift in the transportation segment. With the support of the Government, we are paving the way for a brighter, cleaner, and more prosperous future for our community.”
Embracing CNG-powered vehicles translates into substantial cost savings for owners, with fuel expenses slashed by up to 45%. Moreover, these vehicles maintain optimal engine health over extended periods, resulting in enhanced mileage and reduced maintenance costs. Beyond economic benefits, CNG usage in vehicles yields lower emissions thus offering more environmentally sustainable transportation options.
To date, AG&P Pratham has established two CNG stations and ten DBS stations. In Kalaburagi, significant infrastructural advancements have been achieved with the laying of MDPE pipelines covering a total of 64 kilometers across areas such as Jayanagar, Pooja Colony, Yamuna Nagar, Pragati Nagar, Om Nagar, Prashant Nagar, Arundati Colony, Oklay Camp, and NGO Colony. Over 400 households have been connected to the pipeline network. Additionally, 64 kilometers of steel pipelines have been installed, running from Jalasanghvi to Kapnoor. To support the infrastructure, one City Gas Station (CGS) and two Mother Stations have also been established.
